Version compare

A new master arrives the morning of the show, two bars longer in the intro. Version compare lines the old and the new file up by sound, works out what was added or removed, and moves every cue in that song onto the new version in one undoable step. Cues it is not sure about are listed for you to confirm rather than moved silently.

One song

1. Right-click the song card and choose Replace Audio, then pick the new file.
2. LTCast analyses both files and opens Version compare, with the old version in one lane and the new one in the other.
3. Check what it found: the Start offset between the two files, the sections marked added or removed, and how many cues it is about to remap.
4. Work through the To confirm list — cues that sit in a repeated section, where a chorus can look like any other chorus. Confirm each one when the new spot is right.
5. Click Apply & swap. Markers, MIDI cues, regions, the song map, and the lyric end all move together, and Ctrl+Z puts it all back.

Checking the fit by ear

Audition plays the two versions against each other: click a lane to play from that point, press space to stop, and set a per-source Volume so you can hear the difference rather than guess it. Only channel 0 is played, so a file with an embedded LTC or control tone stays silent, and the audition never touches the show's own audio engine.

When it is not the same song

If the two files do not sound like the same song, LTCast says so and turns auto-remap off — it will not drag your cues onto a different track. Swap file only (keep cues) replaces the audio and leaves every cue where it is. If the whole song shifted by a fixed amount, Overall shift falls back to a single offset for everything.

A whole set at once

Use Version update in the setlist toolbar when a batch of new files arrives. Drag the files, or the folder, onto the panel: each is matched to a song by sound, not filename, so it does not matter what the delivery was called. Confident matches can be applied together with Apply all; anything the sound cannot place asks Which song? and waits. Each song stays individually undoable.
