Calling Script

The Calling Script view formats the cue list as a verbal script for an Assistant Director (AD) or Stage Manager, displaying each cue as a two-line pair to be called aloud. The script auto-scrolls in sync with playback so the caller always sees the current and next cues without manual scrolling.

Accessing the Calling Script

Click the CALLING tab in the right panel. If the tab is not visible, enable it in Settings β†’ Workflow β†’ Optional panels β†’ Show Calling tab.

Script format

Each cue appears as two lines:

  • STANDBY β€” [label] β€” displayed when LTCast enters the standby window before the cue timecode; this is when the caller says "Standby, [label]" to the crew
  • GO β€” [label] β€” displayed when the cue fires; this is when the caller says "Go, [label]"

The current standby/go pair is highlighted; past cues are dimmed; future cues are shown in normal weight below.

Which cues appear in the script

Only cues with at least one department assigned appear in the Calling Script. Cues with no department assignment are skipped. This is by design β€” the calling script represents cues that have a crew recipient to hear the call. To include a cue in the script, open the cue editor and assign it to at least one department.

How to use it

The AD or Stage Manager reads the script and calls cues verbally to the crew. They do not touch the LTCast transport controls. The operator (or automation) handles playback. This separation keeps the calling position hands-free for radio and paperwork while playback is managed at a separate station.

The Calling Script is a display tool only. It does not control playback, fire triggers, or send any signals. It is a read-only formatted view of the cue list synchronized with the current playback position.
