HOLD broadcast
The HOLD button sends a "HOLD — ALL STANDBY" alert to every connected viewer in one tap — the quickest way to tell all crew about an unplanned pause without a radio call. It is a message to the crew only; it does not stop anything in LTCast.
Where the button is
HOLD is a pill on the right side of the bottom status bar, just before CHECK. It is not in Settings or in the Stage Monitor. It is shown only while viewers can be reached: the LAN Viewer Mirror is running, or a Cloud Share link is connected (not while it is still connecting or reconnecting, because an alert sent then would reach nobody). It does not matter whether any viewer is connected yet.
Sending a HOLD
Click HOLD. The alert goes out at once, to all roles, with no confirmation, and it asks for acknowledgement. The button turns into CLEAR HOLD. The alert also appears in the acknowledgement grid of the Stage Monitor, so you can see which departments have acknowledged it.
Clearing a HOLD
Click CLEAR HOLD to send a "RESUME — CLEAR HOLD" alert. It does not ask for acknowledgement and disappears from the viewers' screens after 5 seconds. The button returns to HOLD.
What viewers see
A HOLD is an ordinary alert: the centred ALERT card with the message and an ACKNOWLEDGE button, over a dimmed page. The viewer taps ACKNOWLEDGE to dismiss it. There is no red full-screen takeover, and viewers can dismiss the card themselves. If a viewer still has the HOLD card open when you send CLEAR HOLD, the all-clear message replaces it and the card closes by itself after 5 seconds.
The HOLD / CLEAR HOLD state shown on the button is local to this computer. It is not read back from the viewers and is not saved; it simply alternates each time you click.
HOLD does not stop the show
HOLD does not pause playback or touch any timecode output. If the music keeps playing after you press HOLD, the timecode keeps running and triggers can still fire. To stop the show itself use Stop, or Panic to silence everything — and send the HOLD message as well if the crew needs to know.
