Transport controls

The transport controls manage playback position and state. All protocol outputs β€” LTC, MTC, MIDI Clock, Art-Net, and OSC β€” respond to transport changes simultaneously. There is no secondary sync configuration; everything follows the same internal clock.

Play and pause

  • Play β€” press Space or click the Play button; playback begins from the current position; all outputs start streaming immediately
  • Pause β€” press Space again or click Pause; playback halts at the current position; LTC broadcasts the paused frame as a static signal; MTC sends a Stop message
  • Pressing Play again after Pause resumes from the same position

Stop

  • Press Esc or click the Stop button to stop playback and return to position zero (or to the start of the current song in the setlist)
  • If ESC Fade-out is enabled in Settings, pressing Esc fades the music audio over a configurable duration before stopping; pressing Esc a second time cuts immediately
  • LTC continues broadcasting the stopped position as a static frame; MTC sends a Stop + Full Frame locate message

Loop

  • Set Loop A β€” press [ or click the A button at the desired loop start point
  • Set Loop B β€” press ] or click the B button at the desired loop end point
  • When both A and B are set, playback loops continuously between them; all protocol outputs loop in sync
  • The loop region appears as a highlighted band on the waveform
  • Clear loop β€” press [ when the loop is already active, or click Clear Loop; removes both A and B markers

Protocol behavior during transport

  • LTC β€” outputs audio continuously; static frame when stopped or paused
  • MTC β€” sends quarter-frame messages during playback; Stop and Full Frame locate when paused or stopped; Full Frame on position jump
  • MIDI Clock β€” sends Start / Continue / Stop messages with the transport; 24 PPQ clock pulses during playback
  • Art-Net β€” sends OpTimeCode packets during playback; stops sending when playback stops (configurable)
  • OSC β€” sends position messages during playback at the configured rate

Chase mode

If Chase mode is active, the transport controls are disabled. LTCast is following an external LTC source and mirrors its position. To regain manual control, disable Chase mode in the Devices panel.
