Editing a cue
Every cue has a set of properties β time, label, number, trigger mode, standby lead, notes, color, and department targets. Open the cue editor to change any of these.
Opening the cue editor
Click a cue in the cue list (Cues tab) to select it. Click again or press Enter to open the editor inline. The editor fields appear below the selected cue row.
Time and position
The Time field shows the timecode position of the cue. You can type the time in several formats:
- Seconds only:
30 - Minutes and seconds:
1:20 - Full SMPTE:
0:01:20.00
Press β / β to nudge the cue by Β±1 frame. Press Shift+β / Shift+β to nudge by Β±10 frames.
Label and cue number
The Label is the name of the cue. It is required before saving and appears on the waveform and in all export formats.
The Cue Number is optional and can be a decimal value (for example, 5.5 for a cue between 5 and 6). Cue numbers are used in cue sheets and grandMA / Eos exports.
Trigger mode and standby
The Trigger mode controls how the cue fires during playback:
- Auto β fires automatically when the playhead reaches the cue's timecode.
- Manual GO β pauses at the cue and waits for the operator to press GO.
- Follow Previous β fires immediately after the preceding cue completes.
Standby (sec) is the pre-roll lead time in seconds. For Manual GO cues, this is how early the standby warning appears to the operator before the cue position is reached.
Notes, color, and department targets
The Note field accepts free-text. Notes appear in PDF cue sheets and the Calling Script view.
Color sets the color of the cue marker on the waveform. Color also serves as a visual category when filtering or viewing by type.
Department targets assign which departments (Lighting, Audio, Video, etc.) this cue is intended for. A cue can target multiple departments. Assigned departments are shown in the Departments view and control viewer routing for crew members using the Viewer Mirror.
