Manual Adding markers

Adding markers

Markers (also called cues) are labeled points on the waveform used to mark sections, cues, or events in a song. Each song maintains its own independent marker list.

Adding a marker by double-clicking

Double-click anywhere on the waveform to place a marker at that exact position. The marker appears immediately as a vertical colored line at the click point. A default name is assigned automatically.

After adding, the marker is selected. Click its name label on the waveform or in the cue list to rename it.

Keyboard override: Ctrl+double-click always adds a marker regardless of the double-click behavior setting described below.

Adding a marker at the playhead

Click the Add Marker button in the Cues tab to place a marker at the current playhead position without clicking the waveform. This is useful during playback when you want to mark a point in real time without having to aim at the waveform.

Double-click behavior setting

Go to Settings → Workflow → Appearance and toggle "Double-click waveform adds a marker".

  • When on: double-clicking the waveform places a marker at that position (default).
  • When off: double-clicking seeks to that position instead. Use the Add Marker button or Ctrl+double-click to add markers in this mode.

Marker scope

Markers belong to the currently loaded song. Each song has its own independent marker list. Markers added while one song is loaded are not visible when a different song is loaded.

After adding a marker, click its name on the waveform or select it in the Cues tab to edit its label, timecode, trigger mode, and other properties.
