Hide / show preview

The Video Reference panel includes a hide/show toggle that collapses or expands the video display area. This lets you reclaim screen space when you do not need to watch the video during a section of the show, without unloading the video or losing its alignment.

Toggling visibility

Click the header bar of the Video Reference panel — the ▾ / ▸ chevron, the title and the file name are one button — to toggle the display. Its tooltip alternates between "Hide video preview" and "Show video preview" to reflect the current state.

• When hidden: only the header bar remains, with the chevron, the file name and the pop-out button. The video picture, its zoom controls and the offset line collapse, and the video player behind them is unloaded, so nothing is decoded while it is hidden.
• When shown: the video plays in the panel in real time, following the playhead.

The alignment controls do not live in this header. The ◀ ▶ nudge buttons, ⟳ (Re-sync to audio) and ✕ (Clear Video) are in the Video Audio row under the waveform, and they work whether the preview is shown or hidden.

What hiding does not change

Hiding the preview is a display-only action. The video's alignment, its place in the song and the Video Audio lane are untouched, and nothing it does ever reaches the timecode outputs. When you show the preview again, it jumps to the position that matches the playhead.

No automatic hiding

LTCast never hides the preview on its own, and there is no Video Reference section in Settings. The panel starts out visible, and it stays hidden or shown the way you last left it, including the next time you start LTCast. If you want a minimal screen during a show, hide it yourself with the toggle, or pop it out into its own window.
