Sharing URL & PIN
Once the Viewer Mirror is running, distribute the URL to your crew so they can open the live view in a browser. A 4-digit PIN keeps strangers on a shared network out; it is switched on by default.
Copying and sharing the URL
Click Copy first URL in the Settings → Network Viewer → Host (Mirror) tab to copy the primary LAN address to the clipboard. Paste it into a crew group chat, WhatsApp, or Signal message before the show. Any device on the same Wi-Fi network can open the link.
Share the URL and the PIN together in a single message so crew can connect without asking: "Viewer: http://192.168.1.5:7777 — PIN: 1234"
The PIN
Require PIN is on by default, so a new install asks for a PIN. When the mirror starts, LTCast generates a random 4-digit PIN (between 1000 and 9999) and shows it in the Host tab. If you hide it, click Reveal PIN again to show it. The PIN is not saved to disk and you cannot choose it yourself.
A new PIN is generated every time the mirror starts — when you switch the mirror off and on, change the port, or toggle Require PIN. Each of those restarts the server briefly, so connected viewers drop out, reconnect automatically, and are asked for the new PIN if it changed. Tell the crew before you do any of these during a show.
If you turn Require PIN off, anyone on the network who knows the URL can open the page, send reports and acknowledge alerts.
What the viewer sees
The viewer page always loads. When a PIN is required, the page shows an Enter PIN screen before any show data appears; the PIN is not part of the URL. After a correct entry the phone remembers the PIN, so it does not ask again when the screen sleeps or the page reloads — only when the PIN has changed. A wrong entry shows "Wrong PIN — try again."
Lockout after wrong attempts
After 5 wrong PIN attempts within 30 seconds from the same source address, that address is locked out for 30 seconds. This prevents brute-force guessing on the local network. Because the lockout is by IP address, devices that share an address (behind the same router or hotspot) share the lockout. Give the crew the correct PIN before the show to avoid accidental lockouts.
Changing the PIN
To get a new PIN, switch the mirror off and on again (or toggle Require PIN off and on). LTCast always generates the PIN itself.
