Sharing URL & PIN

Once the Viewer Mirror is running, distribute the URL to your crew so they can open the live timecode view in a browser. You can optionally add a PIN to prevent unauthorized access on shared networks.

Copying and sharing the URL

Click Copy first URL in the Settings → Network Viewer → Host (Mirror) tab to copy the primary LAN address to the clipboard. Paste it into a crew group chat, WhatsApp, or Signal message before the show. Any device on the same Wi-Fi network can open the link.

Share both the URL and PIN together in a single message so crew can connect without asking: "Viewer: http://192.168.1.5:7777 — PIN: 1234"

Enabling PIN authentication

Toggle on Require PIN in the mirror settings. LTCast generates a 4-digit PIN and displays it. If the display is hidden, click Reveal PIN to show it again. Without a PIN, anyone on the network who knows the URL can connect; with a PIN, they must enter it before the viewer loads.

Toggling Require PIN on or off briefly restarts the mirror server, which disconnects viewers momentarily. They will reconnect automatically when they refresh the page.

Lockout after wrong attempts

After 5 incorrect PIN attempts from the same device, that device is locked out for 30 seconds before it can try again. This prevents brute-force guessing on the local network. Inform crew of the correct PIN before the show to avoid accidental lockouts.

Changing the PIN

Disable Require PIN and re-enable it to generate a new PIN. LTCast does not allow manually setting a specific PIN — the PIN is always system-generated for security.
