Devices
Settings → Devices configures the audio and MIDI hardware that LTCast uses for input and output. Set these before the show so all signals are routed correctly.
Audio output devices
LTC Output device — the audio output device that carries the LTC signal. Choose a virtual cable (VB-CABLE on Windows, BlackHole on macOS) or a hardware audio interface. LTCast sends the LTC timecode signal on this device.
Music Output device — the audio output device for the music track. This can be the same device as the LTC output or a different one. A common configuration is to route music to headphones for monitoring while LTC goes to the console. Use the Music Volume and Pan controls to adjust the music output level and stereo position without affecting the LTC level.
MIDI output
MTC Output (MIDI) — the MIDI port that carries MTC quarter-frame messages, full-frame SysEx, and MIDI Clock. On Windows, create a virtual port with loopMIDI and select it here. On macOS, use the IAC Driver (enabled in Audio MIDI Setup). A hardware MIDI interface can also be selected if you need to send MTC to a physical device.
LTC input device
LTC Input Device — the audio input device that carries external LTC for Chase mode. Requires microphone permission from the operating system.
On first access, device names may appear as generic labels rather than real hardware names. Click Grant microphone access to trigger the permission request. After granting access, real device names appear in the list. This is a one-time request per machine.
Microphone permission is required to enumerate audio input device names on macOS and some Windows configurations, even when the input is a virtual cable rather than a physical microphone.
