Type colors

Type colors are a library of named section types — each with a color — that you can assign to cues as a visual category. Common type names include Intro, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Outro, Pre-drop, Drop, and Build. Your type library is stored locally and is shared across all shows on this computer.

Managing the type library

Open the Song Map tab or go to Settings → Workflow → Song Map to add, rename, recolor, or delete types.

To add a type: type a name in the New section type field and click Add, then pick a color for it. The new type appears in your library immediately and is available for all songs.

To recolor a type: click the color swatch next to its name. All cues currently assigned that type update to the new color automatically.

To delete a type: click the delete button next to it. Cues that were assigned the deleted type retain the color at the time of deletion but lose the type association.

Assigning a type to a cue

Open the cue editor and click the type selector field. Choose a type from your library. The cue marker on the waveform immediately takes the type's color.

A cue can have one type assigned at a time. Assigning a new type replaces the previous one.

Importing types from another computer

When you open a project that uses types not in your local library, LTCast shows an "Unregistered types" prompt. Click Add to register the missing types in your local library with the colors from the imported project. If you skip this step, the cues still load correctly but their type associations are listed as unregistered.

Agree on a shared type library across your production team before building out cue lists. Exporting and importing the same type names and colors keeps waveform color coding consistent when a show file moves between computers.
