Copy, cut & paste songs
You can copy songs from one setlist variant to another — or within the same list — the same way you copy files: select, Ctrl+C, switch to the other tab, Ctrl+V. Everything that belongs to the song comes along: offset, cues, regions, song map, lyrics, video alignment and triggers.
With the keyboard
- Select one or more songs (click,
Shift+click,Ctrl+click— see Multi-select) - Press
Ctrl+Cto copy, orCtrl+Xto cut — a cut removes the songs from the list at once - Click another tab (or stay in the same list)
- Press
Ctrl+V
The shortcuts work only while the Setlist is the last panel you clicked, so the waveform and the lyric timeline keep their own copy and paste, and they do nothing while text is selected. Cut songs wait on the clipboard until you paste them; if you never paste, they are gone from the list unless you press Ctrl+Z.
If a song is selected in the target list, the pasted songs land right after it. With nothing selected they go to the end. Pasted songs keep their original order, whatever order you clicked them in.
The same song can appear in a list more than once — useful when a song is played twice in a show.
Ctrl+V pastes a linked copy: editing a cue in either copy edits both. Use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste an independent copy instead. See Linked songs. From the right-click menu
Right-click a song (or one of several selected songs) to get:
- Copy, Cut, Paste, Paste as independent copy
- Copy to list ▸ — adds a linked copy to the end of the list you pick, without switching tabs
- Move to list ▸ — moves the songs to the end of the list you pick and removes them from this one
Drag onto a tab
Drag a song by its ⋮⋮ handle and drop it on another list's tab. The tab lights up and shows Copy 3 to afternoon before you let go.
- Drop — copies (linked)
- Hold Shift while dropping — moves
If the song you drag is part of a selection, the whole selection comes along.
Cut vs. move
Cutting and pasting, or using Move to list, relocates the same song — it doesn't create a new link. If the song was already linked to copies elsewhere, it stays linked to them.
After-finish destinations
If a song's after-finish destination is Go to specific song and you copy it together with that target song (paste, Copy to list, Move to list, drop on a tab, or Duplicate on a list tab), the copy points at the copy of the target, so the copied songs carry on among themselves. A song copied without its target still points at the original; if that song is not in the list the copy lands in, it shows the red → ? badge and stops there. See After-finish destination.
Undo
A paste, a cut, a copy-to-list and a move-to-list are each one step of Ctrl+Z.
