Relink missing files
When you open a project on a different computer or after moving audio files, some songs may show a red File missing badge. LTCast cannot play those songs until you point it to the new file location.
Relink a single file
Click the red badge on the song card. A file picker opens. Navigate to the new location of the audio file and select it. LTCast updates the stored path and the badge turns green immediately. The song is ready to play.
Reconnect Folder
If many files moved to a new folder — for example, you copied the project to a different drive — use Reconnect Folder instead of relinking each file one by one.
- Click the folder icon in the setlist toolbar (Reconnect Folder)
- Select the folder that now contains your audio files
- LTCast scans the folder and matches files by filename
- A result toast shows how many files were successfully relinked
Auto-relink on open
When you open a project, LTCast automatically tries to find missing files in nearby folders (siblings and children of the folder where the project file was last found). If it finds a match, it relinks silently and shows a toast with the total count. No action is needed from you for files LTCast can find on its own.
After relinking
Once relinked, the red badge changes to green and the song is ready to play. The setlist toolbar warning count drops as files are relinked. When all badges are green, the toolbar warning clears.
Preventing relink issues
.ltcast project file. LTCast stores relative paths when files are co-located, which keeps the project portable. Use Collect Project to create a self-contained copy of the project with all audio files gathered into one folder before handing it off to another operator.Related
