View menu & role presets

LTCast has more panels than any one person needs on screen. The View menu in the title bar, next to File, decides which optional panels are shown. Hiding a panel only changes what you see — every timecode output keeps running, and the menu says so.

Panels you can switch

Under Panels each entry is a tick box. Ticking one that has a tab also switches the right-hand panel to it.

The CUES and NEXT CUE tabs are always there. Out of the box only LYRICS and Hints are switched on (besides those two tabs). Under Exports, grandMA2 / MA3 export shows or hides the console export items in the File menu — grandMA2, grandMA3, the CSV cue sheet, ETC Eos and Hog / ChamSys together (see grandMA2 / grandMA3 XML).

Show all panels switches everything on. If NDI output is available on the machine, an NDI output item at the bottom opens the NDI slice editor.

The View button carries a small number — how many panels are currently hidden — and, once you have applied a role, the role's name.

Role presets

At the top of the menu, View as offers five buttons: VJ, Lighting, Audio, Stage and Full. Each sets all the panels above to a reference layout for that job:

RolePanels shown (besides CUES and NEXT CUE)
VJSong Map, Departments, Lyrics, Hints
LightingSong Map, Departments, Lyrics, Triggers, Stage Monitor, Hints, and the console exports
AudioSong Map, Departments, Lyrics, Show, Tools, Hints
StageSong Map, Departments, Lyrics, Show, Triggers, Calling, Stage Monitor, Hints
FullEverything, including the console exports

A role is a starting point, not a restriction. Tick or untick any panel afterwards and the role label clears — the layout is then simply yours. A role also dims, but never hides, the cue lanes of other departments in the cue timeline, so your own department's cues stand out; the stage and video lanes are never dimmed.

These choices belong to this installation. They are not saved in the show file, and a fresh install applies no role: it starts with the defaults above.
