UI lock

UI lock disables all interactive controls in the LTCast interface. Use it during a live show when you need to prevent accidental clicks, bumps, or unauthorized changes while the timecode is running.

Enabling and disabling UI lock

  • Lock — press Ctrl+L (Windows) / Cmd+L (macOS), or click the Lock button in the toolbar
  • Unlock — press Ctrl+L / Cmd+L again, or click the LOCKED banner at the top of the window

A LOCKED badge appears in the toolbar and a banner runs across the top of the window when lock is active. The banner also shows the keyboard shortcut to unlock, so you never have to remember it in a hurry.

What is disabled when locked

  • Transport buttons (Play, Pause, Stop)
  • Waveform seeking and scrubbing
  • Loop point buttons
  • All settings controls
  • Device panel controls
  • Setlist editing and song navigation
  • Marker creation and editing
  • Keyboard shortcuts for transport and editing

What continues running when locked

  • All protocol outputs — LTC, MTC, MIDI Clock, Art-Net, and OSC continue streaming without interruption
  • The timecode display and waveform playhead continue updating
  • The fullscreen TC display continues updating
  • The pre-show check status display remains visible
UI lock only affects user interaction. It does not mute audio, stop protocol output, or change any running state. Locking during playback leaves everything running exactly as it was.

Recommended workflow

Engage UI lock after your final pre-show check and before doors open. This ensures that nothing changes accidentally during the show — even if someone else sits at the computer, opens the laptop, or reaches past the operator. Unlock only when you need to make an intentional change.

Combine UI lock with the fullscreen TC display on a secondary monitor. Lock the interface, put the fullscreen display on the monitoring screen, and the operator sees everything they need without any risk of accidental interaction.
