Pop-out floating window

The pop-out button in the Video Reference panel opens the video preview in a separate floating window that stays on top of all other windows. This lets you place the reference monitor on a secondary display while running other software — such as a lighting console or setlist view — on the primary screen.

Opening the floating window

Click the pop-out button in the Video Reference panel header (the button with an external window icon). The video opens in a new always-on-top window. The main panel hides its video display while the pop-out is open to avoid duplication.

Always-on-top behavior

The floating window stays on top of all other windows, including applications running in full-screen mode. It is visible on all virtual desktops and workspaces on both macOS and Windows. This makes it practical for a dedicated reference monitor that must remain visible regardless of what else is on screen.

Resizing and zooming

Drag the window by its title bar to reposition it anywhere on screen or on a connected external display. Use Ctrl+scroll (or Cmd+scroll on macOS) inside the floating window to zoom the video in or out. Zoom is local to the pop-out and does not affect the main panel.

Closing the floating window

Click the × button in the floating window title bar to close it. Alternatively, click the pop-out button in the main panel again — it acts as a toggle. When the floating window closes, the video preview returns to the main panel.

On a two-monitor setup, pop the video out to the second monitor and leave LTCast's main interface on your primary monitor. The always-on-top behavior ensures the reference stays visible even if another application takes focus on the second display.
