Pre-Show Check

Pre-Show Check runs a checklist of system items and gives one verdict, so you can confirm that LTCast and its connected equipment are configured before the doors open. Run it 15–30 minutes before the show to leave time to fix anything it finds. It is a one-time snapshot taken when you open it; for a live view during the show, use the health strip in the status bar.

Opening Pre-Show Check

Click the CHECK button at the right end of the bottom status bar. It is the only way in — there is no toolbar button and nothing in the Tools tab (the Tools tab holds only the TC Calculator).

Reading the result

Each row is colour-coded:

• Green (✓) — checked and fine.
• Neutral — nothing to check, or nothing wrong with it being off: an output you are not using shows — (not used), an idle show is just idle, and informational rows stay neutral. Neutral rows never stop the verdict from reading GO.
• Amber — worth a look before the show, not necessarily a blocker.
• Red (✗) — the show will not work as built; fix it first.

The line at the bottom is the verdict: All systems GO when no row is amber or red, Warnings — review before show when something is amber, and Issues found — check before show when something is red. Only rows that matter to your setup appear: a row for Art-Net, OSC or MIDI Clock is listed only if that output is switched on, and the trigger-port row only if some song has MIDI triggers.

What it checks

• Audio File — a song is loaded (an Empty Song counts). Amber if nothing is loaded. It does not look at the disk for this file.
• Setlist Files — every audio file in the setlist exists on disk (Empty Songs are not counted). Red, naming the first few, if any are missing.
• LTC Output — green when an LTC output device is chosen; — (not used) when LTC is muted.
• MTC Output — green when a MIDI port is connected; — (not used) when none is selected.
• Art-Net and OSC — listed when switched on, showing the target.
• MIDI Clock — listed when switched on; amber if there is no BPM source yet.
• LTC Signal — green when LTC is present; amber if none is detected while a song is playing; neutral when stopped.
• Timecode fps — while you are following an external clock, compares the frame rate you declared (Force FPS) with the signal that is actually arriving. Amber on a frame-rate or drop-frame mismatch, or while it is still waiting for the external signal.
• Trigger MIDI Port — listed only when a song has MIDI triggers: red if the trigger port is not connected.
• OSC Reachability — listed with OSC on. Amber for an invalid IP address. LTCast can only confirm an OSC receiver if it sends acknowledgements back (OSC feedback): with feedback off the row is neutral and says the link is not confirmed; with feedback on it is green once an acknowledgement has arrived in the last 60 seconds, amber otherwise.
• Setlist Offsets — informational: how many songs use the global offset and how many have their own.
• Markers — the active song has at least one marker; amber if it has none.
• Pending cues — green when no cue is still marked pending; amber with the count otherwise.

Without Pro

MTC, Art-Net and OSC are not sent unless the session is Pro (a licence or an active trial), and generated LTC (TC Generator) is Pro as well. If one of those is switched on in a session that is not Pro, its row turns amber and reads Needs Pro — nothing is sent, so you find out before the show instead of from the receiving device. The status-bar lights show the same thing: Needs Pro on the MTC, Art-Net or OSC pill.
