Importing a video

Video Reference keeps a video file synchronized to the audio for confirmation monitoring. This is useful when your show includes video playback and you want to see what the audience sees on screen while LTCast runs timecode.

Importing a file

Click Import Video in the transport panel. A file picker opens — select a video file. LTCast extracts the audio track from the video and compares it to the loaded audio to automatically calculate the alignment offset.

Supported formats include any format handled by the installed FFmpeg: .mp4, .mov, .avi, .mkv, and others.

Auto-alignment

After import, LTCast automatically aligns the video to the audio by comparing their audio tracks using waveform matching. The result is shown as an offset in seconds. In most cases no further adjustment is needed, but fine-tuning is available via the frame nudge buttons (see Frame nudge).

Per-song memory

The video file is remembered per-song. When you switch to a different song in the setlist, LTCast automatically loads the video assigned to that song and clears the video if the new song has no assignment. See Per-song video memory for details.

Output behavior

The video plays muted in the preview panel. It is a reference monitor only — it does not affect the audio output sent to LTC, MTC, or any other protocol. The audience hears only what LTCast outputs; you see what the video system is showing.

Video Reference is a visual confirmation tool. It does not control the video playback system — it only follows along so you can verify sync visually.
