Sorting songs

LTCast lets you sort the setlist automatically or reorder it manually by dragging. Sort applies to the current variant only and can be undone.

Automatic sort options

Click the sort button in the setlist toolbar to open the sort menu:

  • A → Z — sort alphabetically by song name, ascending
  • Z → A — sort alphabetically by song name, descending
  • By Extension — group songs by their audio file extension (all WAV files together, then MP3, and so on)
  • Reverse Order — reverse the current order without alphabetical sorting; useful to quickly flip a list that was added in the wrong direction
Sort applies to the active variant only. Other variants are not affected.

Manual reorder

Drag any song card up or down to move it to a new position. The drag handle is the grip icon at the left edge of the card. As you drag, a drop indicator line shows where the card will land when you release.

Moving multiple songs

Select multiple songs using Shift+click or Ctrl+click, then drag any card in the selection. The entire group moves together. See Multi-select for selection controls.

Undoing a sort

Automatic sort and manual drags both support undo. Press Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on macOS) immediately after sorting to reverse it. Multiple sort operations can be undone sequentially.

Sort is permanent within the session once undo history is cleared (for example, after closing and reopening the project). If you need to preserve the original order, duplicate the variant before sorting.

Sort and the active song

Sorting while a song is playing does not stop playback. The highlighted active song moves to its new position in the sorted list. Auto-advance continues from the song's new position after the sort.
