Sorting songs

LTCast lets you sort the setlist automatically or reorder it manually by dragging. Sort applies to the current variant only. Neither sorting nor dragging can be undone with Ctrl+Z.

Automatic sort options

Click the ⇅ sort button in the setlist header to open the sort menu:

• A → Z — sort alphabetically by song name, ascending; numbers are compared as numbers, so Song 2 comes before Song 10
• Z → A — sort alphabetically by song name, descending
• By Extension — group songs by the text after the last . in the song's name, which is normally the file extension (all .wav together, then .mp3, and so on); a song whose name has no dot, for example one you renamed, sorts first. Within a group, songs are sorted by name
• Reverse Order — reverse the current order without alphabetical sorting; useful to quickly flip a list that was added in the wrong direction

Manual reorder

Drag a song up or down to move it to a new position. The drag handle is the six-dot grip at the right end of the card. As you drag, a drop indicator line shows where the card will land when you release.

Moving multiple songs

Dragging inside a list moves one song at a time. Selecting several songs only matters when you drop them on another list's tab, to copy or move them there; see Copy, cut & paste songs and Multi-select.

No undo for sorting

Automatic sort and manual drags are not added to the undo history, so Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on macOS) will not reverse them. Deleting songs can be undone; reordering cannot.

Sort and the active song

Sorting while a song is playing does not stop playback. The highlighted active song moves to its new position in the sorted list. Auto-advance continues from the song's new position after the sort.

The amber STANDBY marker (the song you have cued to play next) stays with its song when you sort, just as it does when you drag, so Enter still plays the song you cued.
