Quick-Cue Palette (keys 1–8)

The Quick-Cue Palette lets you drop a cue marker in real time by pressing a number key (18) during playback. Each key corresponds to a slot with a preconfigured label and color. Pressing the key captures the current timecode as a new marker with that slot's label and color stamped onto it.

Enabling the palette

Go to Settings → Workflow → Cue Labels and toggle Quick-Cue Palette on. When active, a CUE SYNC pill appears in the status bar to confirm the palette is enabled.

Number keys revert to normal typing behavior when a text input field is focused. The palette is only active when no text field has focus.

Configuring slots

Each of the eight slots has a label and a color. Configure them in Settings → Workflow → Cue Labels. The label and color are stamped onto every marker captured with that slot's key.

Profession presets load a predefined set of 8 labels and colors suited to a specific role:

  • VJ — visual section types (Drop, Build, Outro, etc.)
  • Lighting — lighting department call types
  • AD / Stage Manager — stage management cue types
  • Audio — audio cue types

Switch to Custom to edit individual slot labels and colors freely.

Saving a custom profession

If you have a set of 8 slots you want to reuse across sessions, click Save as to give it a name. It appears in the Saved list for quick switching alongside the built-in profession presets.

Department assignment

Pressing a number key captures a cue but does not automatically assign a department. After capturing markers in real time, open each one in the cue editor to route it to the appropriate departments before exporting or distributing cue sheets.
