Tour timeline

The Tour view lays the whole setlist end to end on a single time axis, with one lane per department. The song view is for building one song; the Tour is for planning the show β€” who does what, when, across every song. It is also where a cue stops being a marker on a waveform and becomes a clip with its own start and length.

Opening the Tour

Click Tour in the Song / Tour toggle at the top of the window. Songs LTCast has never loaded are marked load once to measure length until it has read their duration. Double-clicking a song in the setlist rail loads it and makes it active without taking you out of the Tour.

To zoom: drag across the ruler to zoom into that range, double-click or right-click to fit, or hold Ctrl (Cmd on macOS) and scroll over the timeline.

Lanes and clips

  • One lane per department β€” the same list you assign to cues (see Departments). Add another at the bottom of the lane headers.
  • Cues are clips β€” drag to move, drag the head or the tail to trim. Grabbing an edge does not move the playhead, so an edge can be lined up against a parked one.
  • Lock a lane or a clip when it must not move.
  • Bar or Diamond β€” each lane draws its cues either as bars (a cue with length) or as diamonds (a moment).
  • Machines β€” a cue can name the machine it drives (confetti cannon L, winch R). Only cues on the same machine are joined by the gap-seconds label, and a machine can be given the minimum seconds it physically needs between two of its own cues. A gap shorter than that is flagged amber. It is advisory: nothing is blocked.

Sections

The Sections lane runs above the department lanes. Click to create one, right-click to name it, double-click to split it. A new section takes its type from the one before it, so a run of verses and choruses fills in quickly.

The bottom bar

  • Snap β€” snap edges to the grid while dragging.
  • Ripple / Overwrite β€” how a drag resolves a collision. Ripple pushes the touching cards along and nothing is lost; Overwrite cuts or deletes the card that gets covered.
  • Follow playhead β€” Off, Continuous (the playhead stays centred and the timeline scrolls under it), or Page (the view holds still and turns one page when the playhead reaches the edge).
  • Chase β€” the tour playhead follows incoming external timecode and scrolls across songs. Same switch as the main page.
  • Countdown β€” point at a cue or a section and its countdown parks in a card you can drag and resize from the corner. Escape clears it.
  • Beat grid β€” beat and bar lines for the active song. It needs a BPM, so detect or tap one first.
  • Color β€” colour cues by their department, or by each marker's own colour.
  • Bar length β€” the length a newly dropped bar-shaped cue gets.
  • Tour settings β€” dependency lines and the rest of the view options.

Dropping cues while you plan

Number keys 1–8 drop the matching Cue Sync slot at the tour playhead (Shift + 1–8 for slots 9–16). It is chase-aware: while chasing external timecode the cue lands under the line you can see.

Where the timecode is thin

A strip under the ruler shows LTC coverage: amber where the song has scanned LTC, so chase can lock, and red where it has none. A cue whose trigger point sits in a red stretch is flagged fires free β€” no LTC, because nothing will chase it there.

Lyrics and Next Cue alongside

The Tour can show a Lyrics column and the Next Cue stack down the right-hand side, so you can read the words and the upcoming calls without leaving the plan. Both columns resize, and Next Cue keeps its own department filter here.

Taking the plan off the screen

  • Export cues to CSV and Import cues from CSV β€” plan in a spreadsheet, bring it back in.
  • Per-lane PDF β€” one cue sheet per department. Give it a Revision number and a Compare to revision, and the handout marks which rows changed, which are new, and which cues have been dropped since that revision.

Undo and saving

Everything in the Tour is undoable β€” Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z / Ctrl+Y, department edits included. Ctrl+S saves the show from the Tour view.
