LTCast 0.7.29 Latest

An NDI editor that works like Arena, safer shared projects, and licences in mainland China

2026-10-03

New

  • NDI editor: select and move several slices at once, like Resolume Arena’s Advanced Output. Drag a box across empty space, Shift+click to add or remove, and resize them together with the box around them.
  • NDI editor: the middle mouse button or Space + drag pans the view and never moves a slice. Right-click a slice for Match Input / Output Shape, Center, Mirror, Fill, draw order, copy and paste, and more.
  • NDI editor: every change can be undone, with Undo and Redo in the toolbar, and the slices can be adjusted while the show plays.

Worth knowing

  • This is the last version for Intel Macs. It runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, but on an Intel Mac it no longer looks for updates: from the next version on, the Mac version needs Apple Silicon (M1 or later).
  • LTCast now runs on Electron 42, which fixes seven security issues in the version 0.7.28 used; the crash-reporting library is updated too.

Fixed

  • Opening a shared project (.ltcastproject) can no longer write files outside its own folder. A specially made project file could overwrite files elsewhere on the computer; such a file is now refused.
  • Pressing Play or Space right after picking a song, before it had loaded, left the transport saying “playing” with the playhead at 0 and no timecode until you pressed Stop and Play. The song now starts as soon as it has loaded. Every earlier version had this.
  • Share Project works again in the installed app. In the installed 0.7.28, saving a .ltcastproject failed because a part of the zip writer was missing.
  • Promo codes, the free trial and licence checks work in mainland China without a VPN.
  • Mac: one Cmd+Q quits LTCast, and Quit in the Dock ends it. Before, the window closed but LTCast kept running until a second Cmd+Q.
  • Choosing Cancel when LTCast asks about unsaved changes on quit no longer takes the show down: the Viewer, Cloud Share, OSC feedback, NDI output and the other windows keep running.
  • Mac: a window reopened from the Dock asks about unsaved changes again.
  • Closing the main window also closes the NDI editor. On Windows the editor used to keep LTCast running.
  • Renaming a live NDI output no longer restarts it on every letter: the name is applied when you press Enter.
  • When the graphics driver keeps failing, LTCast keeps running. After six crashes in a row it used to shut down on Windows, timecode output included.
  • A shared project is unpacked into LTCast’s own Projects folder, also when Documents is on another drive or in OneDrive.
  • Auto-backup can no longer delete shows outside its own folder.
  • Tour: with many lanes, the timeline no longer goes blank when you scroll the lanes down.
  • Tour: Ctrl+A and Ctrl+Shift+A leave collapsed lanes alone, so Delete can’t remove cues you can’t see.
  • Tour: “Extend to next marker” leaves locked cues, cues in locked lanes and diamonds alone.
